Our local government clients are recruiting a Section 106 Project Officer to support the team in ensuring maximum benefit is realised from the effective management of a capital programme, particularly from Section 106 (S106) Agreements and planning obligations, as well as the Community Infrastructure Levy, to support the broader regeneration objectives. 

Responsibility

To deal with matters relating to S106 and CIL implementation in the context of area and infrastructure growth and development, and work with service managers across the Directorate, to maximise inward investment to support economic development and broader regeneration objectives.

Qualification – Essential

  • GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
  • A relevant degree or professional qualification, or Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Project Management
  • Advanced – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), social media and CRM.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable understanding of Section 106 Agreements, the Community Infrastructure Levy and other relevant legislation
  • A good understanding of working in local government / the public sector and the importance of public service, ethics and standards, partnership working and customer care.
  • An appreciation of basic accounting principles and procedures, particularly in the drafting of transaction journals and adherence to strict financial control
  • Demonstrable understanding and successful application of relevant ICT systems, and a detailed working knowledge and application of Microsoft applications (especially Excel, Access, and Project)
  • Experience in the successful development and implementation of monitoring systems for S106 and CIL, involving the effective use of ICT systems, preferably using a project management approach.
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines with conflicting priorities.
  • Experience in providing advice to customers.
