Description

We are recruiting a Retirement Housing Advisor for a local government client in East Sussex. This role requires the candidate to be multi-skilled and manage a range of tenancy-related tasks. You should have experience managing tenancies within the social housing sector or possess good resilience and excellent time management skills.

Responsibility

 You will work with vulnerable customers and undertake various duties, including raising safeguarding concerns, collaborating with partner agencies, monitoring and recording health and safety with our retirement housing schemes, and writing personal tenancy sustainment plans, including risk assessments. You should be able to work effectively within a team and independently for extended periods. Must be able to work on multiple systems, including MS Office and housing management CRM systems such as Northgate or similar housing systems. 

Qualification – Essential

  • GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Relevant professional level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), social media, CRM-Northgate.

  • Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing with customers, colleagues, officers, external agencies, and partners to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability and commitment to work with vulnerable people and help challenging and distressed customers.
  • Ability to actively listen to extract and assess vital information to ensure appropriate arrangements are made to support the customers’ needs.
  • Ability to work calmly and sensitively.
  • Ability to draft reports to support decisions and court action.
  • Advanced IT systems to gather, store, and produce reports and process information.
  • Ability to work, support, and deliver services following the Equalities Policy.
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to positively manage and diffuse challenging situations.
  • Confident, resourceful, and flexible team player who can work independently.
  • Customer-focused and able to engage with residents, encouraging them to maintain an independent lifestyle.
  • Experience working in a social housing service environment.
  • Awareness of essential health and safety issues connected to maintaining the security of the building.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations effectively.
  • Experience working in a customer service environment.
  • Full driving licence and access to own vehicle with business insurance.
  • Be available to work additional hours outside of regular working hours as needed.

Essential Compliance Requirements

  • 3 Years References.
  • Enhanced DBS.
  • A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role. Please be prepared for this additional step in the application process.
