Our local government clients are recruiting a Business Support Officer. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with strong customer service experience and excellent communication skills to join our Household Support Fund team.

Responsibility

You will be working in a lively and supportive team, helping to deliver financial support to our residents who currently require additional assistance. The work is varied, and each day is different.  You may find yourself working across various teams within the Compliance and Strategy team, helping to make a difference to residents. This role offers some flexibility to work from home; however, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of three days each week, with the ability to be flexible and respond to the business's needs.

Qualification – Essential

  • GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
  • NVQ level 3 in Admin
  • Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media, and CRM.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements - Criteria to be Evaluated at the Shortlisting Stage.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Strong customer service skills, including excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to maintain administrative and business support systems and comply with procedures.
  • Good IT skills using a range of software and applications, and the ability to produce high-quality correspondence.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality.
  • A basic knowledge of the Household Support Fund.
  • Appreciation of the problems faced by people in need.
  • Knowledge of office procedures, including electronic filing systems.
  • Working in a busy customer-facing setting.
  • Handling a wide range of enquiries, including sensitive matters and having an excellent telephone manner.

Essential Compliance Requirements

  • 3 years' reference, including current employment
  • A standard DBS check will be required for this role
  • A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role.
