Description
To deliver the highest quality improvement, compliance, and business support function for the Assurance and Public Protection Directorate. Coordinate internal and external communication and maintain the intranet and website content for the Assurance Directorate. Coordinate responses to complaints, Freedom of Information and Subject Access requests, and Members' Enquiries.
Responsibility
Provide operational support to improvement initiatives, audits, and the implementation of action plans. Support the development of business plans and the delivery of priorities, including planning activities. Support the delivery of a consistent, proactive, and effective communications approach, using relevant internal and external communications channels to ensure branding and quality.
Qualification – Essential
- GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Level 3 or above qualification in administration, business management, communication, customer relations and/or equivalent experience in a related business environment.
- Advanced – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), social media.

Successful candidates will have:
- Experience in managing a varied workload and competing priorities, responding effectively to the needs of all stakeholders. Essential
- Knowledge and experience of delivering high-quality customer service, operations and business support
- Proven experience using and maintaining databases for caseload management, data collection and reporting purposes. Essential
- Experience working within a local authority or in a similar organisation/environment, and an understanding of local authorities and the context in which they operate.
- Ability to accurately record data using specialist information management systems - Essential
- Ability to analyse complex information and articulate it with clarity.
- Innovative approach to work, with proven ability to identify and implement improvements
- Ability to produce and present reports - Essential
- Ability to deliver high-quality, accurate and timely work with minimum supervision.
- Understanding of financial processes and ability to use financial systems - Essential
- Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information appropriately and securely - Essential
- Highly competent user of Office365 (specifically MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc) Essential
- Ability to work effectively in a political environment, developing positive relationships with colleagues, senior managers, external partners and Members in a way that establishes confidence, credibility and trust
- Demonstrates a high level of personal drive and energy.
- Adaptable, has a flexible attitude, and shows initiative
- Ability to use relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor and report.
