We are recruiting an Accounts Assistant to work as a pooled resource, to cover a range of accounting and budgeting responsibilities, and supporting the work of the Head of Oracle Cloud Support and Senior Finance Systems Analyst.
Responsibility
To undertake a range of duties across a broad customer base to Oracle Cloud, the maintenance of the budget and its monthly monitoring and to support period end, statutory reporting and other financial management needs.
Qualification – Essential
· 3 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· NVQ level 4 &/or relevant experience
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media, MS Teams,
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Ability to assist in the production of budgets and budget monitoring reports
· Experience in Contributing to delivering excellent service by regularly meeting
performance standards as outlined in the service level agreement
· Experience in closing the business’s annual accounts, including preparing an audit
schedules and working papers, administering Government Grant claims, statutory returns
for the ODPM, and monthly and year-end accounting returns.
· Proven ability to monitor and maintain revenue and capital budget reconciliations
· Experience in updating and maintaining the savings tracker for any changes
· Experience in weekly reconciliations of various reports
· Able to maintain records of business recharges
· Able to assist the Principal Finance Officer in preparing budget monitoring reports
· Able to keep the Grants register up to date.
· Previous experience in a similar role- essential
· Strong commitment to operating in a customer focussed environment
· Ability to organise own workload to meet targets & deadlines
· Able to support the preparation of the Medium Term Financial Strategy
· Ability to assist with queries and regulatory returns relating to employment status, tax
management act (TMA) and CIS
· Ability to undertake general finance tasks, such as (but not limited to) raising invoices,
reconciliations, journals and virements, and purchase orders.
· Ability to contribute to the continuous improvement plan and assist in the design of new
processes and procedures.
