Description

DBHRS is recruiting a confident, community-focused Recycling Advisor for a public-sector assignment in Tottenham Hale. For an immediate start. You will visit homes and businesses, explain local recycling services and help residents recycle more effectively. This role suits candidates with experience in customer service, community outreach, field sales, canvassing or environmental services.

The Role

This is an active, field-based role involving door-to-door engagement, property surveys, data recording, and substantial walking and outdoor work in all weather conditions. Local travel by public transport is required; an Oyster card will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Survey properties and identify recycling behaviours and barriers.
  • Speak with residents at their doors, events and roadshows.
  • Explain food-waste, recycling and general-waste services clearly.
  • Provide practical, persuasive advice to diverse communities.
  • Distribute campaign materials and promote recycling initiatives.
  • Record visits, survey results and resident feedback accurately.
  • Highlight areas needing targeted support.
  • Work with council teams and partner organisations.
About You
  • Public-facing experience in outreach, customer service, field sales, canvassing or advisory work.
  • Confident, polite and persuasive communication skills.
  • Interest in recycling, sustainability or environmental services.
  • Good organisation, observation and problem-solving skills.
  • Accurate basic IT, CRM or Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable walking long distances, using a trolley and working outdoors.
  • Flexible to work occasional earlier or later shifts.
  • GCSEs or equivalent general education.
What You Need to Know
  • Location: Tottenham Hale, N17—around two minutes from the Tube.
  • Pay: £23.09 per hour via Umbrella.
  • Contract: 12 weeks, temporary.
  • Hours: 36 per week, Tuesday–Saturday.
  • Manager: Project Supervisor, Recycling & Waste.
