**Job Description**

We are seeking a Family Help Social Worker for a local government client in Weymouth, Dorset. You will join a supportive, well-structured, and growing team that offers flexible working arrangements and regular reflective supervision. **Responsibilities**

  • - Deliver statutory services in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and relevant legislation.
  • - Complete high-quality assessments and timely care plans.
  • - Safeguard and promote the welfare of children through direct, meaningful work.
  • - Build resilience with families using restorative and strengths-based approaches.
  • - Prepare clear, well-evidenced reports for court and multi-agency professionals.
  • - Chair meetings that bring professionals together to create a unified plan.
  • - Maintain accurate case records.
  • - Undertake specialist assessments with full training provided.
  • - Collaborate closely with early years providers, education, police, health, and community partners to develop coordinated, child-centred support.

**Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements**

  • - A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience within English local authorities.
  • - A committed and thoughtful practitioner with a strong knowledge of statutory children's services, who is confident in managing complex court work and passionate about improving outcomes for children and families.

**Referral Bonus**

Qualification – Essential

  • GCSES or equivalent to include Maths and English
  • Degree in Social Work (or equivalent)
  • SWE Registration
  • Ability to travel across Dorset as needed
  • Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, social media.

Essential Compliance Requirements

  • Five Years of References
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB
  • A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role. Please be prepared for this additional step in the application process.
  • Willing to engage in the mandatory pre-screening application process.
