We are recruiting a Social Worker to join a multi-professional team of Senior Social workers, CAMHS professionals and social work coordinators. We have an organisational culture where children and young people are at the heart of everything we do to promote a relational base practice across the service:
Responsibility
To manage the specific set of tasks relating to statutory case responsibility for children, young people and care leavers in need of help and protection and public care, with the support of an appropriately qualified supervisor:
Qualification – Essential
GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
Degree in Social Work, DipSW or CQSW
HCPC recognised Social Work qualification
Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Good understanding of relevant legislation, regulation, safeguarding practices and
research on what works to improve outcomes for children and families
· Demonstrate skills aligned with the Motivational Practice framework (role-play interview)
· Experience of direct working with the impact of trauma and ensuring safeguarding is
always prioritised
· Demonstrate evidence of communicating and listening with children and families/carers
taking into account diversity
· Produce written cases notes and reports that are well-argued, focused and jargon-free
with sound analysis
· Demonstrate ability to engage children in their environment, understand the world in
which they live and the quality of their key relationships
· Proven ability to act upon consultation and referral to other services-adult mental ill
health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, physical ill health and disability to mitigate
risk to children
· Demonstrate the ability to assess the impact of cumulative trauma and be clear about
concerns, namely: sexual, physical, emotional abuse, neglect, CSE, gangs,
radicalisation, and
teffectact of parental issues on children
· Demonstrate ability to collaboratively carry out multi-agency, in-depth and ongoing
assess risks of social needs and risk to children
· Able to demonstrate that they can make an application to the family court, the type of
order to be applied for and the preparation and presentation of evidence
· Demonstrate commitment to providing a service which respects children and young
people’s rights
· Ability to take constructive feedback and provide a proportionate and timely response
when concerns about the help being provided are raised
· Evidence that the child or young person is meaningfully and consistently integrating the
help provided.
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Five Years of Reference
· Enhanced CRB / DBS – Essential
· Current HCPC registration
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
