Description
Our local government clients in Nottinghamshire are recruiting a Homelink Advisor to support Housing Solutions in helping applicants complete a HomeLink Housing application. Must be available for immediate start.
Responsibility
- Supporting people to complete Housing Applications – either in person or over the phone
- Verifying the eligibility of applicants joining the housing register
- Ensuring applicants are placed within appropriate priority bands according to the allocations policy
- Providing quality customer advice on a wide range of housing options
- Maintaining effective liaison and relationship building with internal and external representatives
- Provide effective and efficient administrative services.
Qualification – Essential
- GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Housing Management, or willing to work towards a qualification. Or a part qualification of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
- Advanced – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), social media and accounting software.
Criteria to be Evaluated at the Shortlisting Stage - We are looking for candidates with:
- Experience of working in a housing environment and an ability to learn.
- Ability to make accurate and timely decisions, often in pressurised situations, and to always act tactfully and with sensitivity and courtesy.
- Particularly regarding the qualification and eligibility of applicants for social housing in accordance with the allocations policy.
- Demonstrated a firm but fair approach to managing, customer services and relationships whilst maintaining a professional attitude.
- Evidence of carrying out individual assessments to determine qualification and eligibility for social housing.
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively organise and use initiative to prioritise workload to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
- Good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Knowledge and experience with homelessness legislation would be beneficial.
Essential Compliance Requirements
- 3 Years References, including current employment
- Willing to engage in the mandatory pre-screening application process.
