Our local government clients in Enfield, Greater London, are recruiting a Deputy Manager - Older People's Care Home. Assisting the manager in the day-to-day management and administration of the service in accordance with policies and procedures. To provide effective management and clear leadership to the staff team, ensuring that high standards of professional practice are created, promoted, and maintained, and provide valued lifestyle opportunities for tenants.
Responsibility
Leadership & Support - Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing daily operations. - Act as the manager in their absence, ensuring continuity of leadership. - Provide visible, hands-on leadership during shifts. – Quality & Compliance - Ensure care delivery meets Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and legislative requirements. - Monitor and update care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures. - Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualification – Essential
- GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Relevant qualification, or demonstrable experience eina similar role
- Advanced – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), social media and accounting software.
Criteria to be Evaluated at the Shortlisting Stage - We are looking for candidates with:
- Staff Management - Supervise and mentor care staff to promote professional development.
- Coordinate rotas and staffing levels to maintain safe coverage.
- Handle performance management and support recruitment/induction.
- Resident Care – Provide hands-on care and oversee residents' well-being, ensuring person-centred care.
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
- Respond to complex care needs and emergencies.
- Administration: Manage medication processes and ensure accurate record-keeping. - Support budget monitoring and resource allocation.
- Ensure effective communication across the team and with stakeholders.
Essential Compliance Requirements
- 5 Years References, including current employment
- Enhanced DBS & barred list check (Adult)
- Willing to engage in the mandatory pre-screening application process.
