Description
Our local government clients are seeking a Personal Advisor – Leaving Care Service to ensure that the statutory obligations to young people leaving care are met and that all legislative, regulatory, and corporate requirements are complied with. To be accountable for the provision of a statutory case work service to up to 27 young people, ensuring that individual care plans are developed and implemented, which meet the full range of needs.
To undertake direct work with vulnerable young people, who may display complex, challenging and aggressive behaviours, in SCS buildings, in their homes and community settings.
Your key responsibilities will include:
To work in partnership with each young person on the caseload to develop and implement statutory care plans which promote positive outcomes in all areas. Ensure that statutory responsibilities are met and evidenced in each case to meet the expectations of internal and external inspections. To maintain detailed, accurate and contemporaneous records of case work and financial activity.
Qualification – Essential
- GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Qualification in childcare and child development, or demonstrate the relevant experience
- Advanced Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media and CRM.

- Significant experience working with vulnerable young people with a range of complex problems.
- Knowledge of the legislative framework around Looked After Children and Care Leavers.
- Experience in financial planning, monitoring and the provision of best value services.
- Ability to maintain electronic case records in a timely and accurate fashion in line with the Department's recording policy
- Experience in user participation and an ability to develop and implement strategies to ensure that even the most hard-to-engage young people influence service delivery and design.
- Demonstrable success in partnership working for the benefit of young people.
- Significant experience of engaging with vulnerable young people (this may include Care Leavers and Former Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children) with a range of complex issues.
- Experience in service user participation mechanisms and an ability to develop and implement strategies to ensure that young people influence service delivery and design.
- Demonstrable success in partnership working for the benefit of young people.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a Team.
