Our local government clients are recruiting Outreach Support Workers. The Outreach Team plays a crucial role in supporting adults with a learning disability to maximise their independence within their own homes. The team has experience in person-centred planning, as well as upskilling in cooking, budgeting, and accessing community resources.

Responsibility

The worker must be energetic and proactive, encouraging the service user to participate in activities.

Qualification – Essential

  • GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Level 3 qualification, e.g. BTEC Environmental Health, or 2 A levels, NVQ3 or equivalent in relevant subject(s)
  • Intermediate – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), social media.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements - Criteria to be Evaluated at the Shortlisting Stage.

Successful candidates will be:

  • Ability to work independently using own initiative and as part of a team while managing workload effectively
  • Prioritising work and adopting a flexible, can-do approach to changing demands of the service.
  • Minimum of 2 years' Experience in supporting vulnerable adults with home and community-based personal care and support.
  • Competent when using the IT systems and able to maintain electronic records following statutory requirements and data protection policy. - to be tested
  • An understanding of supporting adults to become more independent, working with a personalised approach.
  • To be flexible to work outside usual work patterns if required to in a crisis, having a positive can-do approach.
  • Ability to work alongside vulnerable people to assist them in leading a more independent life.
  • Awareness of the social model of disability.
  • The job offers a flexible 4-week rolling rota, accommodating various schedules and personal needs.
  • WK 1 - Tuesday 11-7 pm, Thursday 9-5 pm and Sunday 10-6 pm
  • WK 2- Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10.45 am - 6.45 pm
  • WK 3 - Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 11 am -7 pm
  • WK 4 - Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 10-6 pm
  • Sundays will be paid at an enhanced rate.

Essential Compliance Requirements

  • 5 Years References.
  • Enhanced CRB/DBS
  • A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role. Please be prepared for this additional step in the application process.
