Our local government clients are recruiting a Housing Repairs Supervisor to cover a team of high-performing repairs operatives to deliver high standards of work quality and efficient use of materials. To undertake a range of complex diagnostics and co-ordinate multi-trade repair projects for repairs affecting multiple properties, such as major leaks, demonstrating proficient level skills and experience across a range of trades, carpentry, plumbing, decorating, plastering and tiling. Carrying out toolbox talks and one-to-one sessions with operatives. Pre- and post-inspections on tenanted properties.
Responsibility
Managing the void team ensures that voids are delivered within the time scale. Attending evening TA meetings and ensuring responsiveness to internal and external customer needs. Ensuring compliance with health and safety rules and regulations in all work activities is maintained. The supervisor will be office-based, working with subcontractors.
Essential Qualifications
GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- HNC Building Industry qualification or equivalent
- Experience across a range of trades, carpentry, plumbing, decorating, plastering and tiling. Etc.
- Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media, and CRM.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements - Criteria to be Tested at Shortlisting.
- Candidates must have extensive experience in social housing with a trade background.
- Experience of leading and supporting teams of trade operatives to optimise their performance to improve customer satisfaction and efficiency.
- Experience in carrying out supervisory quality control post-inspections following a quality framework, for a team of staff and contractors carrying out complex repairs.
- Working knowledge of statutory legislation regarding health & safety and understanding the need for rigorous risk assessment and method statement procedure.
- The ability to converse comfortably with customers and provide accurate advice in spoken English is essential.
- Have a good understanding of building regulations and compliance.
- Have excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of the construction industry and site operations.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, including the use of handheld technology
- Ability to participate in an on-call rota providing a service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- The ability to attend evening and weekend meetings when required
- The ability to work flexibly, ensuring the needs of the wider community are met weekly and provide emergency response
