Description
To provide a high-quality, responsive, and cost-effective Parking Permit Service that meets the community's diverse needs and complies with statutory requirements, policy, guidance, and codes of practice.
Responsibility
To be responsible for providing members of the public with accurate information and advice concerning the parking permit schemes and general advice concerning any other parking or highway/transportation issues. This will include dealing with irate and/or distressed customers by telephone.
Qualification – Essential
- GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- NVQ or equivalent standard and evidence of continuing professional development
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Advanced – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), social media and CRM.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements - Criteria to be Evaluated at the Shortlisting Stage.
Successful candidates will have:
- Effective administrative skills
- Knowledge of parking enforcement legislation or moving traffic offence enforcement legislation, including the ongoing development of best practice and case law.
- Parking / Technical Experience Desirable.
- Good organisational skills and ability to achieve agreed deadlines and targets whilst staying motivated and focused.
- Ability to plan, programme, deliver and monitor projects and programmes of work, in line with agreed timescales and outputs.
- Ability to contribute to cross-service/agency projects.

- Clear verbal and written communication skills to write reports for statutory purposes, particularly case recordings.
- Ability to bring creative solutions to problems.
- Ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and to develop appropriate promotional material.
- Ability to develop effective partnerships within the private sector and other external agencies, both statutory and voluntary.
- Able to establish positive working relationships, and work closely with elected Members, chief officers, external agencies, community groups and individuals.
- Commitment to the principles and practice of equality and diversity in employment and service delivery.
- Understand the relationship between housing policy and diversity issues.
- Ability to reflect diversity issues in their monitoring and evaluation work
- Actively pursuing Continuing Professional Development as defined by a professional body.

- Willingness to work outside of contracted hours in the evenings and weekends, subject to notice.
