- Our Public Sector client in Northeast London is recruiting a Housing Access Officer– The Housing Access Officer is responsible for negotiating and procuring Nightly Paid accommodation to prevent homelessness or to fulfil statutory duties for eligible clients at the best price in a cost-effective manner that provides value for money.
Responsibility
Allocate accommodation and ensure agreements are signed with tenants for all temporary accommodation types, following temporary accommodation policy, guidance, and procedures. Providing appropriate information, advice, and guidance to applicants with a focus on managing customer’s housing expectations:
Qualification – Essential
· GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
· Relevant professional level qualification or equivalent experience
· Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media, and CRM.
Skills, Abilities, & Experience – Essential
· Significant knowledge and experience in working to conflicting deadlines and managing time
and resources efficiently.
· Knowledge and experience in delivering excellent customer service within a local authority
housing and homelessness service.
· Knowledge and experience working in partnership to improve outcomes for the homeless
applicants and their households.
· Significant knowledge and experience in managing temporary accommodation teams and
schemes.
· Knowledge and experience in implementing the statutory homelessness framework
(Legislation, including assessments, prevention, relief, primary duties, TA duties, and
accommodation offers.
· Significant knowledge and experience in implementing national and local welfare services,
such as Universal Credit, LHA, DHP, and local welfare assistance programmes.
· Knowledge and experience in implementing the PRS housing standards, such as HHSRS
Gas/Electricity Compliance, EPC, Licensing, HMOs Management & Regulations, etc.
· Significant knowledge and experience in implementing Safeguarding, Social Care and
Equality legislation, policy.
· Significant knowledge and experience of housing and homelessness IT systems.
Essential Compliance Requirements
· 5 Years References.
· Enhanced DBS on the update service
· Available for immediate start.
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role.
