- Description
- We are recruiting a Social Worker -To work with the person and other professionals as necessary to facilitate the stated functions of the Older People and Physical Disabilities (OPPD) Service.
Responsibility
To be responsible for the day-to-day interpretation and implementation of statutory and departmental policy in providing casework and, if appropriate, group work or other social work service to individuals, families and other groups: This includes the undertaking of proportionate assessments, ongoing support, and proactively working with complex issues, family dynamics, legal issues, crises, providing information and advice, transferring to another team if required and the provision of ongoing safeguarding:
Qualification – Essential
· 3 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· ASW 4 years post qualification or equivalent level experience working with adults with
complex needs
· Current HCPC Registration
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams and social media:
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work
England- essential
· Must have completed the ASYE programme.
· Knowledge of current and proposed Social Services legislation, particularly about Adults.
· Knowledge of literacy and numeracy skills to write reports to meet the needs of courts and
other Agencies/ Departments.
· Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, mental capacity, and deprivation of liberty legislation
and best practice.
· Solid experience assessing the social care needs of older adults and people with disabilities.
· Proven experience working with multiple agencies to facilitate holistic and strength-based
assessments.
· Experience utilising safeguarding legislation policy and practice to identify and process
any safeguarding
· and quality of care issues.
· Experience in assessing mental capacity within the Mental Capacity Act.
· Applying social work ethical principles and values to guide professional practice.
· Ability to effectively manage case administration, maintain appropriate records, report
writing and appreciate the implementation of open files.
· Ability to cope with high demand and throughput.
· Ability to use and understand the supervisory process, work to timescales, and be self-
managing and proactive in caseload management.
· Ability to collate and analyse complex information and produce high-quality data and reports
easily understood by others, with clearly evidenced recommendations.
· Ability to safeguard adults' investigations and formulate person-centred protection plans.

· Three Years of Reference
· Enhanced DBS & barred list check (Adult)
· Five years of referencing & all gaps in CV accounted for
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
