We are recruiting an Environmental Health Officer with substantial recent experience in food safety, health & safety and infectious disease control. The Environmental Health Practitioner (EHP) should be able to demonstrate current and relevant CPD in line with the FLCOP, EHRB registration and an up-to-date completed FSA competency framework.
Responsibility
To be responsible for ensuring statutory and legal obligations are delivered and communicated in a customer focussed manner, optimising available resources:
Qualification – Essential
· GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· BSc, MSc or Diploma in Environmental Health,
· Registered with EHORB or equivalent to practice as an EHO.
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, social media, and
CRM:
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Experience in planning, setting and updating own work against objectives, determining work
methods to achieve goals and receiving and acting upon feedback on work performance.
· Experience in providing comprehensive advice to various types of premises.
· Experience advising businesses, consumers and other service users of the criminal and civil
law relating to environmental health.
· Experience preparing reports and statements to meet legal and court procedures and
leading in complex investigative work.
· Experience working as an enforcement officer in an environmental health department.
· Ability to report on areas of dissatisfaction with service provision and working arrangements
· Detailed technical and legal knowledge and understanding of significant environmental
health and health and safety legislation administered by officers at this level.
· Ability to monitor the use of financial resources and control the use of resources.
· Good communication skills and ability to communicate verbally and in writing with
individuals and groups at all levels, including with other organisations.
· Experience in routinely producing unique correspondence responding to sensitive or
complex matters.
· Ability to represent the team and colleagues regarding environmental health and other
related functions, assess and comment on information and opinion, and recommend
appropriate courses of action.
· The successful candidate will also have the option to manage some of the work working
from home
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Three Years of References
· Enhanced DBS required
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
