We are recruiting a Children and Families - Early Help and Prevention specialist to undertake a clinical role within the Children and Families Clinical Service. To ensure that children and young people entering the youth justice system receive early intervention and adequate mental health support and have access to clinical interventions to address their wider presenting needs and divert them away from offending behaviours:
Responsibility
To join the highly specialist Children and Families Clinical Service, undertaking direct work with young people, and families with a range of complex presenting difficulties, including offending behaviours, emotional and behavioural challenges, abuse and neglect, developmental trauma, relationship and attachment difficulties, deliberate self-harm and substance misuse problems:
Qualification – Essential
· 3 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· Recognised Psychological Qualification
· HCPC Recognised Qualification
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media:
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Solid experience working with children with behavioural, emotional and psychological
problems
· Knowledge and experience in using specialist assessment tools, e.g. AIMS and ADOS
· Able to demonstrate understanding of psychological, mental health, dual diagnosis and
personality difficulties as they relate to Children's
· Experience in multidisciplinary teams working in complex environments
· Extensive experience in exercising full clinical responsibility for children's psychological
care and treatment
· Experience in working with vulnerable groups and individuals within diverse ethnic
communities
· Ability to manage high levels of risk and anxiety while maintaining a safe practice, sound
decision-making and professional presentation
· Experience in undertaking assessments of children's emotional and psychological needs
· Experience in engaging hard-to-reach families who would not otherwise access clinical
service
· Experience in providing specialist consultation to other professionals
· Strong ability to lead on clinical issues and practice within a YOT multidisciplinary context
· Knowledge of legislation, policy and practice guidance as it relates to children's receiving
YOT intervention
· Ability to make highly skilled evaluations and decisions about treatment options taking
into account theoretical and therapeutic models.

· Five Years of Reference
· Enhanced DBS
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
