We are recruiting a Family Solutions Key Worker to provide a seven-day-a-week flexible, intensive intervention service between 7 am-7 pm. To support families with complex support needs such as anti-social behaviour, mental health problems, substance misuse, domestic violence issues or family breakdown to improve outcomes for families, children and young people:
Responsibility
To undertake comprehensive assessments (including CAF assessments of all family members, Outcome Star), identifying the training and support needs of a family; to develop detailed, innovative support plans (Contracts) in response to the family needs and to achieve the aims of the service:
Qualification – Essential
· GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant area of work,
· Early Education, Social Work, Education, Youth Offending or Health
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Sound working knowledge of safeguarding issues, policies, procedures and managing
risk
· Working knowledge of the common assessment framework, the team around the family,
and leading professional role
· Understanding the impact of poverty and stress on families and communities
· Understanding and working knowledge of the “Troubled Families” agenda
· Understanding of issues affecting transitions and adolescence
· Good knowledge of services and resources for families
· Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the needs of children, their families or
carers and knowledge of normal child development, including emotional development
· Experience and knowledge of working within diverse communities
· Significant experience in direct work with families who are experiencing multiple
disadvantages
· Experience working in more than one sector (from Education, Social Services, Health,
Youth Service, Voluntary and Community Sector, Sure Start or Child Care)
· Experience working with children and families in a statutory or voluntary agency,
including those with special needs
· Experience of home visiting
· Experience in interagency working to support families
· Knowledge of the Team around the Family approach
· Experience in delivering evidence-based parenting programmes
· Experience in completing family assessments
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Three Years of Reference
· DBS - Enhanced
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
