We are recruiting a Conference & Events Supervisor to manage a customer-focused service and the effective use of resources, ensuring that the business's overall vision, values and ethos are central to the requirements of the service:
Responsibility
To assist the Senior Conference and Events Supervisor in coordinating and delivering a wide range of small and large-scale internal, external, corporate, private, and ceremonial events from start to finish. We are looking for a motivated individual who is a team player with experience working in an operational role for an events venue or hotel:
Qualification – Essential
· 3 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· NVQ Level 2 & or relevant experience
· SIA qualified or willing to be trained up to SIA standard
· Events Management experience is essential
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media, MS Teams
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Experience and good person-management skills that inspire respect and confidence
in others
· Experience in supervising events successfully, from start to finish, including overseeing
the set-up and clearing with close attention to detail
· Ability to Supervise external suppliers on-site, including ensuring they adhere to the
business's Health and Safety policies and venue Risk Assessments
· Ability to produce accurate and timely post-event documentation and reports, including
collecting client signs off and feedback as necessary
· Ability to create staff rotas and the booking of agency staff as and when required
· Knowledge of hiring of furniture and equipment, including checking such items in and out
of the building with the supplier as and when required
· Experienced customer service skills with the ability to empathise, maintain
professionalism, display patience and politeness
· Knowledge of heating, cooling and lighting levels and the ability to make adjustments via
the BMS and manual controls
· Understanding of the current issues affecting the Events Industry and interest in current
event trends
· Ability to communicate, both verbal and written, with experience in liaising with
customers and colleagues on all levels
· Knowledge of using Event Management Systems and producing reports and event briefs
· Must be flexible with a "can-do" attitude, able to work under pressure and have a passion
for exceeding customer satisfaction
· Experience in working with the Sales & Marketing Manager to maximise the efficiency
and resilience of the team
· Manual handling and lifting certificate
