Our client in East London is recruiting a Caretaker – to support the health and wellbeing of residents. To provide a visible and trusted presence in a flexible, responsive, high-quality caretaking service in the estates and the small street properties receiving this Service:
Responsibilities:
To work as part of a team in delivering a cleaner, safer and well-maintained estates and blocks whilst continuously improving services to the common areas of estates following agreed targets and the aspirations of residents:
Qualification – Essential
· GCSE/O Level, 5 GCSE including English & maths
· Basic Health & Safety Certificate
· COSHH certified
· Manual Handling Trained
· Good user – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media
Skills, Abilities & Experience – Essential
· Experience in gardening and minor building maintenance
· Must be physically fit and strong enough to carry tools and materials
· Excellent level of literacy and numeracy
· Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision and as part of a team
· Experience in completing cleaning tasks within compliance schedules, frequencies and
methods
· Experience in sweeping and washing communal staircases, entrances, foyers, passages,
courtyards, car parks, hard-standing areas etc.
· Ability to ensure that estate incidents are accurately recorded
· Experience in carrying out monthly health and safety and fire risk inspections of
communal internal and external areas and keeping written and electronic records
· Knowledge of health and safety regulations
· Knowledge of the mechanical equipment and cleaning materials used for estate cleaning
· Ability to prioritise and plan conflicting workloads regularly to meet deadlines and set
targets
· Experience in communicating verbally and in writing effectively with residents,
contractors, colleagues, elected members, etc.
· Ability to ensure that customer care standards are adhered to at all times
· Ability to undertake manual handling duties and other physical demands required of the
role daily
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Three Years of Reference
· Enhanced DBS
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
