Description

Your role as the SEND Transformation lead is crucial. You will lead, develop, and oversee priority 5 of the Local Authority SEND and AP Strategy - ‘the delivery of a DSG management plan to create a more financially sustainable system.

Responsibility

In this role, you will work alongside a team of seconded and non-seconded staff, including a Senior EP, Primary and Secondary headteacher, Head of SEND, Managing Director, and other key stakeholder groups. Together, you will focus on delivering three key areas across the Local Area as the Education Leadership Group agreed. Specialist Commissioning Specialist / Mainstream Funding Arrangements.

Qualification – Essential

  • GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or
  • Relevant professional or management qualification at the post-graduate level
  • Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media, and CRM.

 Skills, Abilities & Experience – Essential

  • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant investigative methods, legislation and processes.
  • Develop a programme for SEND transformation based on the above to ensure the agreed outcomes are achieved.
  • To ensure the dependencies, risks and issues are identified and managed effectively.
  • Work directly with senior leaders to challenge the status quo and initiate change.
  • One of the key responsibilities of the SEND Transformation Lead is to develop inclusive education, health, and social care provision for children and young people with SEND. This is a crucial aspect of the role that directly impacts the lives of those it serves.
  • To develop and nurture strong, positive relationships with key stakeholders to ensure engagement and delivery of change.
  • Extensive knowledge of the SEND system within a Local Authority environment.
  • Evidence of continued professional, managerial and personal development in relevant professional areas.
  • Extensive experience in managing complex programmes, including SEND Transformation, and understanding of how to communicate with senior leaders.
  • Proven ability to draw on expertise in SEND, healthcare, social care and education.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the changing role of local authorities, the issues facing local government and the broader economy and how they impact relevant service areas.
  • Demonstrably understand the efficiency agenda, value for money, business improvement techniques, and performance management and how this can be applied to a complex programme.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to persuade, negotiate and influence at all levels.
  • Project and programme management, leadership and team working skills.
  • Ability to apply discretion and initiative in dealing with complex issues.
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically to plan and execute programmes.
  • Experience in leading new ways of working and delivering culture change in a high-profile complex system.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing for internal and external presentations and reports at all levels of any organisation.
  • Flexible to travel around/outside the greater London area.
