We have an opportunity for a Housing-Rough Sleeper Coordinator. Supporting rough sleeping or homeless people is at the heart of our mission. You’ll work with service providers and commissioners to develop this approach. You’ll also collaborate with them to find solutions for delivering enhanced services and support a broad take-up of our accommodation offer. Crucially, you’ll help our Housing Options Operations Managers to ensure our delivery models meet the diverse physical and mental health needs of people sleeping rough in the borough.

Responsibilities

You’ll actively engage with, and support commissioned and contract service providers who deliver frontline support services, accommodation and person-led housing solutions. We’ll look to you to help ensure our accommodation and support pathways safely and effectively address the needs of different groups, many of whom have complex and challenging needs. Specifically, you’ll help us deliver a focus through all our services to prevent homelessness and rough sleeping.

Qualification – Essential

  • GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Relevant degree or Equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
  • Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.

  • Experience in supporting vulnerable people in a busy environment.
  • As a team player, you have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, whether face-to-face, on the phone, or in writing.
  • Excellent organisational skills, a flair for identifying and resolving problems, and experience delivering results within challenging timeframes.
  • Advanced experience working with computerised record keeping is also vital.
  • Ability to assess, design, plan, and implement Personal Housing Plans.
  • Ability to ensure all aspects of casework are carried out following relevant legislation, strategies, policies and initiatives set.
  • Ability to establish and sustain effective working relationships with service users and partners.
  • Have care, homelessness experience and sustaining tenancies experience ideally.
  • Good knowledge of welfare, housing and homelessness policy, strategies, legislation, and case law and its implementation within a statutory homelessness service.
  • Experience in working in onsite temporary accommodation.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Social Care and Equality policies and strategies.
  • Ability to constantly achieve performance targets and objectives.
