This role presents a distinctive opportunity for a Senior Commissioning Officer to oversee the strategic delivery of integrated commissioning, transformation, and service improvement activity programmes/projects across the Borough and NHS Integrated Commissioning Board (ICB). The role focuses on Integrated Community Equipment, making it a unique and rewarding opportunity.

Responsibility

Your responsibilities are crucial, involving the gathering and analysing of a broad spectrum of information to inform the assessment of social care and health service needs, map the provision of services, and provide the evidence base for strategic planning and service developments. You will be instrumental in coordinating the involvement of stakeholders, carers, and clients in developing commissioning strategies, specifically but not exclusively, regarding the Integrated Community Equipment Service, which is used to help ensure that commissioning activity is robust, sustainable, designed, and delivered according to needs.

Qualification – Essential

  • GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Education to Degree level or equivalent and substantial experience
  • Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media and CRM.

Essential - Skills, Abilities, & Experience

  • A senior commissioning officer must understand the end-to-end strategic delivery of integrated commissioning, transformation, and service improvement activity programmes and projects.
  • Expertise in planning, supporting and delivering commissioning projects.
  • Proven experience in leading the development and delivery of high-quality health and social care services, applying performance and contract management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project principles, techniques, and tools, such as Prince 2
  • A sound understanding of analysing a broad spectrum of information from various sources to inform the assessment of social care and health services needs and to map the provision of services.
  • Experience planning services for diverse inner-city communities, with a demonstrable understanding of working with differences, disadvantages, and community groups.
  • An understanding of the agenda and both local and national developments in service and delivery of Integrated Community Equipment.
  • Ability to produce written briefings and Committee Reports, contribute to written reports and help inform stakeholder development plans.
  • Ability to co-ordinating the involvement of stakeholders, carers, and clients with the development of commissioning strategies specifically but not exclusively to the Integrated Community Equipment Service
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written, with the ability to communicate effectively across various audiences using various methods.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage any new commissioning arrangements, using Project Management tools and ensuring the practical completion of projects.
  • Able to export and analyse data, produce reports and understand office software packages.

Essential Compliance Requirements

  • Two Years of Reference.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service
  • A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role.
