Description
We seek a Planning Officer who will play a crucial role and be accountable to the Group Leader. This role involves researching, providing information, preparing policies and plans, dealing with detailed planning schemes and initiatives, and developing control functions. Your contribution will be integral to planning operations.
Responsibility
As a Planning Officer, you will be able to work under supervision on individual projects involving information, research, policy preparation, plans, schemes, planning briefs, design, landscaping implementation, and statutory development control functions. This role offers a platform for professional growth and development.
Qualification – Essential
- GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- RTPI accredited degree or equivalent.
- · Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media, AutoCAD and CRM.
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
- Substantial experience dealing with enquiries on research data, planning applications policies and proposals, design matters, detained planning schemes and other planning information from the public, different departments and other authorities.
- Contribute to the planning, regeneration and economic development policies and information needs and ensure the implementation of such policies regarding statutory and non-statutory plans, local plans and schemes, development proposals, detailed plans, and environmental and landscaping improvements.
- Process significant and minor planning applications covering all aspects of development.
- Prepare reports and recommend application decisions to be determined under delegated powers.
- Undertake information, policy, detailed plan, scheme, implementation, development, environmental and landscaping projects.
- Prepare committee reports containing policy assessments and recommendations and attend committee when required.
- Provide advice on relevant planning issues, proposals and appeals.
- Assist in providing a comprehensive planning and regeneration strategy responsive to the needs.
- Assist with drafting specifications for projects and monitoring progress.
- Assist with project briefs and feasibility studies on regeneration and economic strategy work and liaise with planning staff as required.
- Ensure that work undertaken actively promotes equal opportunities, customer care, and environmental policies that always concern service delivery and personnel practice.
- Provisions of Health and Safety at Work Legislation and internal policy and procedures.
- Enter data and receive output from any electronic data processing equipment according to agreed procedures.
