- Our client in South East London is looking for a Supported Lettings Officer – To deliver on targets to procure properties for the use of rough sleepers and homelessness prevention and to work in partnership with the Street Population Outreach Team and Outreach Navigators to ensure that customers are rehoused in suitable and affordable private rented sector accommodation:
Responsibility
To work with the Private Rented Sector and Financial Inclusion Teams to ensure Rough Sleepers and single people at imminent risk of a first night sleeping rough understand their rights and responsibilities along with possible benefits that are available to this cohort:
Qualification – Essential:
· GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
· Educated to degree level or equivalent or
· BTEC level or demonstrable ability to operate at this level
· Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media and CRM
Essential Skills, Abilities, & Experience
· Thorough understanding of inner-city housing issues, particularly rough sleeping and
Supported housing provision.
· Awareness of issues and challenges facing rough sleepers and solutions to eliminate Rough
Sleeping.
· Knowledge of housing benefit rules and regulations, welfare benefits and issues relating to
privately rented tenancies.
· Knowledge of health and safety legislation, undertaking/ monitoring risk assessments, and
housing inspections.
· Experience working with homeless people, providing advice, assistance and support.
· Experience working within a private rented sector housing industry.
· Experience in leading or working with others to deliver results.
· Literacy and numeracy to a level that will enable the analysis and interpretation of
information, produce reports and correspondence and maintain administrative records.
· Experience in monitoring and delivering record-keeping to a high standard.
· Experience in procurement of properties, including inspection and negotiating with landlords
in the private sector.
· Ability to identify current service provision gaps and liaise with senior officers and external
agencies.
· Interpersonal skills, including active listening, advocacy and a win-win approach with all
stakeholders.
· Communication skills include writing detailed technical letters and reports and getting things
right the first time.
· Ability to gather information, interpret complex issues and provide creative and positive
solutions to various cohorts of service users.
· Ability to achieve customer satisfaction by identifying genuine needs and jointly developing
effective solutions
· Able to comply with and promote the Equal opportunities policy
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Three Years of Reference
· Enhanced DBS required
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
