- Our client in Northwest London is looking for a Housing Officer in Housing Benefits and Planning – To provide a high level of customer service with an emphasis on getting things right first, keeping promises and taking ownership of the customer demands and requests. Promote self-sufficiency in our services while supporting those who need extra help:
Responsibility
To Deliver a comprehensive lettings service which leaves customers feeling satisfied with Housing Management from day one:
Qualification – Essential:
· GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
· Educated to degree level or equivalent or
· BTEC level or demonstrable ability to operate at this level
· Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media and CRM
Essential Skills, Abilities, & Experience
· Knowledge of housing legislation, particularly understanding Landlord and Tenant law and
other legal requirements for managing homes and neighbourhoods.
· Relevant experience working in a partnership/multi-agency setting and multi-disciplinary
team.
· An understanding of housing legislation to nuisance, neighbour disputes and racial
harassment.
· Effectively interview customers through active listening and negotiation skills.
· Experience working autonomously to manage workload and prioritise on-site and office
tasks.
· Experience in working with customers and championing their views and feedback.
· Travel between sites will be a requirement for this role.
· Attending meetings and other activities outside regular working hours will be required.
· Able to find creative ways of delivering results beyond what is expected wherever possible.
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, with various people,
including Councillors, contractors and other agencies.
· Demonstrate the ability to be solution-focused, taking responsibility and action to promote
excellent customer service, with a ‘Can Do’ attitude.
· Demonstrate the ability to work as a team towards common goals, creating a sense of team
spirit.
· Highly self-motivated with the ability to plan work effectively without high supervision.
· Ability to work ‘on the go’ using mobile technology.
· Ability to facilitate online customer engagement activities.
· Ability to deal with potentially complex situations within a busy workload, mitigate risks to
customers and organisations, and achieve positive outcomes.
· Flexible approach with the ability to respond effectively to changing circumstances.
· Evidence of continuing personal development.
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Three Years of Reference
· Enhanced DBS required
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
