- Our client in South East London is looking for a Mental Health Housing Officer - To Assist residents in securing & achieving their life progression goals, to provide appropriate floating support for six months and to ensure they are linked to necessary support services, provide face-to-face support to persons living with mental illness. To communicate and develop daily living skills, emotional stability and increase confidence:
Responsibility
To provide self-assured client-centred key-working support, risk assessment, and support planning to help improve physical and mental well-being and life skills. Access mental health, adult social care, substance misuse, primary and secondary health care services and treatment, as relevant:
Qualification – Essential:
· GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
· NVQ Business Administration level 3, BTEC or equivalent
· Health & Social Care Level 3 or Equivalent experience
· Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media and CRM
Essential Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Self-starter with advanced computer experience and can mix face-to-face practical work with
computer-based record keeping.
· Open and supportive to the needs of others, resilient and creative with ways to encourage
and promote positive change in individual’s daily lives.
· Able to demonstrate experience with vulnerable adults and communicate effectively with
other professionals and agencies in resolving and supporting Mental Health.
· Excellent written communication skills and ability to review detailed risk assessments.
· To maintain working relationships with family, social workers and other professionals.
· Knowledge of techniques to reduce drug and alcohol dependency.
· Knowledge of health and safety standards, procedures, and legislation and the ability to
apply them in practice
· Experience in the navigation of criminal justice systems and police services.
· Ability and experience in supporting people to take up meaningful daytime activities.
· Extensive knowledge of health and adult social care resources required to deliver effective
care and support to customers and their careers.
· Excellent knowledge and practical application of risk assessment and Safeguarding Adults
statutory frameworks and current agendas.
· Knowledge of the Care Act and Housing legislation and the available support for single
homeless adults.
· Understanding of welfare benefits and other assets available to supported accommodation
residents.
· Experience working with homeless people with complex support
needs.
· Experience recovery-focused and harm-minimisation service provision for clients with
multiple and complex needs
· Knowledge of case coordination in a multi-agency setting.
· Ability to record written/financial information accurately
· Ability to prepare simple reports and correspondence
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Five Years of Reference
· Enhanced DBS required
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
