We are recruiting a Capital Delivery Project Manager -to provide high-quality, consistent and effective delivery of the capital portfolio to build and grow an in-house team. This exciting and varied role puts the individual in charge of managing some of the critical capital schemes and aiming for excellence on a personal level.
Responsibility
To operate in a matrix management environment as this role has wide-ranging responsibilities, including working with Strategic Directors and service leads to enable their service strategies, liaising closely with Regeneration and Housing colleagues to ensure consistent strategic alignment and reporting directly to relevant Boards and senior groups on large-scale strategic projects involving the corporate estate.
Qualification – Essential
· 3 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· PRINCE2 or equivalent project/programme management qualification
· Preferably a degree in a property-related discipline
· RICS or RTPI or other appropriate professional qualifications.
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams and social media:
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Experience working at the management level in delivering Capital Schemes within a public
sector environment.
· Project management skills and the ability to provide management for multiple complex
projects simultaneously.
· Knowledge and practical delivery of capital schemes from inception to occupation and
project closure
· Solid experience delivering Infrastructure schemes such as Schools, Leisure Centres,
Community Centres, Libraries, Office Accommodation and Complex Operational Facilities.
· Experience in chairing meetings and group settings.
· Experience in managing projects and successful completion of these projects.
· Able to effectively manage external teams such as Contractors and Technical Assistants.
· Experience in the development of high-quality and robust business cases.
· The ability to analyse which ideas will and will not work to drive progress.
· Experience in managing a multidisciplinary team to the completion of projects.
· Able to demonstrate a solid network of contacts within the public and private sectors.
· To have the drive and ambition to accomplish high-level projects, using this as
a motivator.
· Able to autonomously set your direction to achieve the best results possible.
· Knowledge of technical, legal and health and safety requirements.
