- Our client in Southwest London is recruiting a Street Environment Officer- To carry out and maintain service inspections and monitoring activities as determined by the target operating model relating to a suite of contracts (including Parks, Waste and Street Environment), exercising applicable financial control and ensuring compliance to contract specifications:
Responsibility
To routinely inspect operations relating to the suite of contracts to ensure compliance with legal, technical, and other regulations and requirements, ensuring that issues are dealt with by current procedures, customer service standards, specifications, policies and legislation, compiling comprehensive and accurate records of all relevant environment contract activities:
Qualification – Essential:
GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
NVQ Business Administration level 3, BTEC or equivalent
Environmental and enforcement experience
Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media and CRM.
Essential Skills, Abilities & Experience:
· Experience within the suite of contract services delivered in Public Space, involving the
management of customer enquiries, monitoring and reporting these services.
· Knowledge of the current issues in Public Space, including current procedures, legislative
drivers and best practice principles.
· Understanding the overall services, its customer service aims and an appreciation of the
current issues within environmental enforcement.
· Appreciation of quality management techniques and can work within defined quality
systems.
· Appreciation of management issues, legislation and delivery options and the ability to apply
that knowledge in Parks, Street Environment and Waste.
· Appreciation of financial control and local authority financial regulations and how they should
be applied in various circumstances.
· Understanding the performance indicators, service standards and specifications of
contracted services and applying this information to improve these contract areas.
· Solid awareness of effective contract management and can successfully develop and apply
knowledge and skills.
· Ability to plan, coordinate and deliver own tasks and workload effectively to meet agreed
and set targets.
· Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and manage time effectively.
· Capable of proactively identifying and resolving practical problems and proposing service
improvements.
· Ability to communicate effectively within the organisation and to customers, consultants,
contractors, and external agencies orally through letters, short reports, meetings, etc.
· Ability to work within a team and contribute positively to overall effectiveness.
· Experience in monitoring contracts, including substantive interaction with customers,
stakeholders and contractors
· To possess a valid driving licence
· The ability to respond to emergency callouts if required
· Flexible in working arrangements and prepared to work outside regular office hours
(including weekends and Bank Holidays) as needed in the interests of the service.
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Three Years of Reference
· Enhanced DBS required
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
