- Our client in Essex is recruiting a Senior Housing Solutions Officer– To lead, supervise and monitor a team that works with members of the public to provide a high-quality service to households that may be homeless or at risk of homelessness, ensuring that the critical focus is on maximising opportunities for early intervention and the prevention of homelessness:
Responsibility
Manage a team of up to 5 Housing Solution Officers (Generic), taking responsibility for all people management issues, including performance management, disciplinary and conduct problems and sickness management
Qualification – Essential
· GCSE/O Level, 5 GCSE including English & maths
· Educated to degree level or equivalent vocational experience
· Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
· Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media and CRM.
Skills, Abilities & Experience – Essential
· Demonstrable ability to lead and manage a team and monitor/review performance against
set targets for both the team and individuals.
· Experience and detailed working knowledge of housing legislation, case law and guidance
with homelessness, Housing legislation, Legislation and case law and regulations.
· Knowledge of activities and techniques to prevent homelessness with the ability to present
innovative solutions.
· Substantial and relevant experience in the housing/homelessness field.
· Experience and detailed working knowledge of housing legislation, Housing legislation,
case law, guidance and policy to Housing Allocations; Homelessness Reduction Act 2017;
Housing Act 1996 Part 7;
· Knowledge of robust personalised housing Plans, Prevention and Relief Duties of
Legislation and case law to private tenancies and security of tenure, relationship breakdown
and domestic abuse;
· Knowledge of Legislation, regulations and guidance with welfare benefits, including personal
benefits and housing-related benefits;
· Experience in assessing and interviewing vulnerable people, extracting sensitive information
and providing excellent customer care.
· Knowledge of activities and techniques to prevent homelessness with the ability to present
innovative solutions.
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Three Years of Reference
· Valid DBS
· Available for immediate start
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
