Description
We are recruiting a Planning Assistant to provide professional and technical advice, guidance and recommendations and to carry out all the functions associated with the delivery of the statutory procedures concerning Planning.
Responsibility
To be responsible for Monitoring planning decisions and investigating cases of unauthorised development, interviewing parties, taking statements, inspecting, surveying and photographing sites, writing up reports, representing the service in enforcement notices and acting as a witness at court and enforcement appeals:
Qualification – Essential
·        GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
·        HNC in recognised Planning qualification and a minimum of 2 years post-qualification
         working experience in a Planning environment.
·        Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, social media, GIS and
         AutoCAD:
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
·        Have at least one year of post-qualification working experience in a Planning environment.
·        Have previous experience in preparing and presenting reports.
·        Previous experience in research and data analysis.
·        Competent in the use of GIS.
·        Competent in the use of Microsoft applications, email and computerised diary.
·        Hold a full current driving licence and have access to transport, or have access to transport
         to meet the requirements of the post.
·        Knowledge of relevant Northern Ireland planning policy and legislation.
·        Ability to Plan, structure and prioritise work to achieve optimum results.
·        Experience in communicating effectively, being resilient and treating people fairly.
·        Able to Analyse information to identify problems and issues and make effective decisions
         and recommendations.
·        Experience preparing and presenting reports for planning applications with development and
         enforcement Planning matters.
Essential Compliance Requirements
·        Three Years of References
·        A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role.
