To operationally manage and supervise the team to ensure high-quality service to children, focused on good outcomes with timely interventions at the right level, within statutory guidelines, and within given resource and budget availability:
Responsibility
To offer operational management support to 4 social workers, specifically regarding exploitation and missing children. The role will connect with the Edge of Care team and provide continued support to the co-coordinator, seven Edge of Care workers:
Qualification – Essential
· GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· Social Work England recognised social work qualification and SWE registration
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams, Social Media, and CRM:
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Direct responsibility for operational staff
· Considerable experience of services to vulnerable people
· Substantial post-qualification experience in a relevant setting
· Experience with the whole range of Children in Need Services
· Understanding of the full range of early help services and ability to recognise children and
families who would benefit from early help
· Demonstrable working knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and policy context
relating to the work of Social Care and Early Help services relevant to the service area
· Commitment to a child-centred approach
· Commitment to teamwork and engagement
· Commitment to multi-agency working across a range of services to promote better
outcomes for children and families.
· A focus on performance management and service development
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Ability to work to tight deadlines in often pressured environments
· Analyse and evaluate information to make decisions on the levels of risk and support
required for children and their families
· Audit work of others, ensuring robust planning and safeguarding measures are being
undertaken and made recommendations for improvement and development
· Prioritising critical intervention work, determining strategies and ensuring the timely
progression of plans
· Swiftly understand, interpret and provide complex information to a range of audiences
· Hybrid working pattern of three days in the office and a flexible approach
Essential Compliance Requirements
· 5 Years References
· SWE registration
· Enhanced DBS on the update service
· A pre-engagement screening is a mandatory requirement for this role;
