We are recruiting a Privately Rented Housing Officer: - To provide the main point of contact to private rented housing tenants and suppliers, provide effective Private Rented Housing Advice and Casework and support residents to sustain their housing, provide housing advice, homelessness casework and support households in privately rented accommodation:
Responsibility
Responsible for all tenancy and property management aspects, including repairs, inspections, investigating complaints and dealing with tenancy-related issues.
Qualification – Essential
· Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
· Property-relevant Degree or Experience
· Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle,
· Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and social media:
Critical - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Experience working in Property Management, Housing Management roles,
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
· Able to work autonomously and inclusively in a team,
· The ability to converse at ease, politely and courteously with customers and provide
advice in accurate spoken English is essential and consistent with the requirements of
this role.
· Able to work to conflicting deadlines without direct supervision and able to manage time
and resources efficiently,
· Significant knowledge and experience in delivering excellent customer service within a
local authority housing or homelessness service,
· Significant knowledge and experience in working in partnership to improve outcomes for
homeless applicants and their households,
· Significant knowledge and experience in the management of temporary accommodation
teams and schemes
· Significant knowledge and experience in the implementation of the statutory
homelessness framework
· Knowledge of Legislation, Suitability Order, and Caselaw), including assessments,
prevention, relief and primary duties, TA duties and accommodation offers,
· Significant knowledge and experience in the implementation of national and local welfare
services, Universal Credit, LHA, DHP, and local welfare assistance programmes
· Significant knowledge and experience in the implementation of the PRS housing
standards, HHSRS Gas/Electricity Compliance, EPC, Licensing, HMOs Management &
Regulations,
· Significant knowledge and experience in the implementation of Safeguarding, Social
Care and Equality legislation, policy and caselaw strategies
· Significant knowledge and experience in housing and homelessness IT systems
· You may be required to work remotely or in other Council locations.
· Ability to drive and have access to own vehicle,
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Three Years of Reference
· Valid UK driving license and have access to own vehicle,
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role.
