We are recruiting a Team Manager for the Community Mental Health Team: - To be responsible for the operational management and performance of a multidisciplinary mental health team which includes psychiatric nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and support workers:
Responsibility
The team manager has day-to-day operational responsibility across the range of health and social care processes and management of the s75 duties on behalf of the Local Authority. Such as Care Act assessments, s117 reviews and safeguarding whilst ensuring high-quality practice is delivered:
Qualification – Essential
· Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
· Professional qualification in Social Work - Diploma in Social Work, BA/BSc/MA in Social
Work, CQSW
· Social work registration, as required by Social Work England
· Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and social media:
Critical - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· A minimum of 3 years senior experience in statutory public sector services working with
older adults/people with dementia and their families/carers.
· Extensive knowledge of the issues affecting older adults/people with dementia and the
skills to support staff in managing these patient groups,
· Experience in establishing effective partnerships working whilst promoting and utilising
a strength-based approach to maximise independence and mental well-being,
· Robust working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and the Care
Act and an ability to keep up to date with changes to the law,
· An in-depth understanding of policy and guidance frameworks which affect older
adults/people with dementia in health and social care settings,
· Analytical skills to interpret, summarise and draw conclusions from complex data.
· Proficiency in the use and understanding of IT and Information Management,
· Experience in managing staff and complex situations, using clear judgement to advise
others to do the same,
· Ability to contribute towards staff training events and staff meetings,
· Ability to control a budget,
· Ability to create innovative solutions to complex problems with highly developed and
excellent reasoning skills,
· Ability to deal with often complex and significant issues by telephone, personal and
written enquiries/complaints,
· Ability to establish and drive a positive performance and quality culture that has driven up
standards and performance,
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Five Years of Reference
· Enhanced DBS & barred list check (Child & adult)
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role.
