We are recruiting an Electrical Engineer to join the Capital Improvement Team specialising in the life cycle replacement of existing electrical systems for Social Housing:
Responsibility
The electrical engineer is responsible for the project life cycle from conception to completion, including Condition Surveys / Condition Reports; the Feasibility Study; Specification; Procurement; Contract Administration, including signing off new works and taking over systems after the defects liability period. The electrical engineer role will suit someone who has a solid electrical engineering background and has experience working for a local authority / social housing organisation or similar experience working with a consultancy:
Qualification – Essential
· GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· Qualified as a Chartered Engineer or full Member of the Chartered Institute of Building
Services Engineers
· Degree or Higher National Diploma.
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Project Management, Social
Media and CRM
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Experience in developing specifications for electrical repair and refurbishment works for
low-carbon installations
· Ability to undertake contract administration for works on site
· Experience in writing technical reports
· Ability to creatively solve engineering design and maintenance-related problems
· Experience in project management to plan, programme, and deliver projects on time and
within agreed budgets
· Good communication and IT skills are essential
· Ability to manage and progress multiple projects during the design and specification
stage and the defect liability period
· Ability to coordinate and lead on several medium / large-sized projects, including working
with and coordinating other building professionals
· Experience in assisting with staff recruitment, training, development, welfare and safety
of staff within the service.
· Ability to keep up to date with the latest electrical standards, including Building
Regulations, Planning Policy, Sustainable Design and any other measures required to
deliver the business’s programme of work
· Ability to arrange and attend stakeholder meetings to include a high degree of resident
consultation
· Ability to work well under pressure and in situations that may become challenging
· Ability to advise on the appraisal, selection, appointment, and monitoring of contractors
and sub-contractors
· Ability to attend, and chair and minute contract and resident meetings
· Possess broad knowledge and experience of various engineering forms of contract.

· DBS - Enhanced
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
