We are recruiting a Finance Manager to focus on financial modelling and business transformation of the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) and working with the local Schools Forum. Supporting Headteachers and school businesses in streamlining the budget monitoring and supporting the more comprehensive transformation:
Responsibility
To support the Head of Finance in delivering a high-quality, flexible, professional finance service that reacts to business priority changes and adapts to current requirements. Ensure that the team works as efficiently and effectively as possible, supporting the business operating principles and representing value-for-money services:
Qualification – Essential
· GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· CCAB accountancy qualification or part qualified
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media and SAP System
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of local government finance, budgeting
and accounting
· Experience in providing high-level advice, support and challenge on a variety of complex
financial and service issues
· Able to demonstrate an equivalent level of skills, knowledge and understanding of
accountancy and financial matters through a significant amount of relevant experience
· Excellent numerical and analytical skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret
detailed and complex financial and other information,
· Able to develop and use financial management systems and to have the confidence and
ability to train and develop others in the use and application of such systems
· Experience in successfully managing finance and other staff, including performance
management, personal and professional development
· The confidence and ability to lead and develop a team through a wide range of
managerial relationships to achieve objectives
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presenting complex and
detailed financial and other issues to a diverse audience
· Able to develop and manage productive relationships with external and internal contacts
and agencies
· Advanced IT skills, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word, including the ability to
design, construct and interpret complex spreadsheets
· Extensive experience working with integrated financial systems in a large organisation
· Substantial experience in providing financial advice and support to senior officers,
members and external stakeholders
· Experience with SAP systems
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Three Years of Reference
· DBS - Enhanced
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
