We are recruiting a Senior Practitioner to be the first point of contact for safeguarding referrals regarding children. To provide a holistic response to children, young people and their families, ensuring the needs of our community and respecting family life:
Responsibility
Talking to families and professionals, gathering and analysing information to ensure children are safeguarded and supported at the earliest opportunity. This an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and motivated individual looking to develop skills in risk analysis and help to participate in the ongoing development of the service:
Qualification – Essential
· GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· Dip SW. CQSW. CSS or CCETSW or equivalent
· Social Work England Registered with three years of post-qualification experience
· Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, CRM, and Social Media.
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Demonstrates skills in assessment, and analysis, including risk analysis and case
planning to
meet the needs of children and young people and create imaginative and innovative care
packages
· Able to take the lead within the service on a specialist area to promote knowledge across
Children, Education Families and partner agencies
· Demonstrates ability to use IT systems effectively
· Records clearly, accurately and in a timely fashion to ensure statutory requirements are
met
· Produces complex, literate and well-written reports to Court and other settings
· Able to manage and drive forward new initiatives and service development programmes
· In-depth knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance relevant to working in children’s
services
· In-depth understanding of essential child care and child protection research and
assessment frameworks
· Knowledge of legislation relating to Data Protection and Freedom of Information
· Proven experience working with children and families
· Experience working with children and families within statutory, independent or third sector
· Experience in direct work with children and young people
· Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
· Commitment to continuous professional development and the acquisition of advanced
and specialist skills and knowledge
· Able to work flexible hours if required
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Five Years of Reference
· DBS - Enhanced
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
