We are recruiting a Building Surveyor – To deal with the repair, diagnose the cause, and arrange for work to be carried out, including the assessment of condensation cases and drafting reports for presentation to the High-Value Repair Panel:
Responsibility
To be responsible for visiting customers in their homes and identifying defects, raising work orders using the National Housing Federation Schedule of Rates and specifications, and providing a prompt, courteous and helpful response when dealing with customer queries:
Qualification – Essential
· GCSEs or equivalent to include Maths and English
· HND/C Building with demonstrable post-qualification experience
· or BSc Building and two years post-qualification experience: Or
· Proven expertise and Demonstrable Building surveying experience
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD, GIS, CRM
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Proven experience managing the workload within a technical quality team
· Able to write and prepare specifications for repairs and maintenance work and major
repairs and planned maintenance contracts
· Experience in writing Bills of Quantity
· Knowledge of preparing work programmes, estimates, value work in progress and issue
variations
· Experience in preparing and certifying interim and final payments to contractors
· Experience in administering contracts and supervising work in progress
· Robust and practical communication skills by telephone, writing and face-to-face in small
and large meetings
· Experienced in report writing to validate information for the High-Value Repair Panel,
speaking at and chairing meetings, and documenting client care letters following a
complaint investigation
· Ability to attend conferences and present technical reports as necessary, taking into
account and adapting to the level of technical understanding of target audiences
· Advanced computer skills, input and extraction of data from CRM
· Proficiency in the use of devices, aids and instruments for assessments and diagnosis of
building failures
· Working knowledge of the building industry codes of practice, measured team and
building forms of contract, the Construction (Design and Management)

· Three Years of Reference

· Enhanced satisfactory DBS
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
