We are looking for a Level 2 Nursery Practitioner for immediate start -: To support children with learning and development and to help children at mealtimes to carry out observation and planning activities:
Responsibility
To protect and promote the health and well-being of children’s learning through play to ensure they reach their development targets.
Qualification – Essential
· GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
· NVQ 2 or BTEC in Health and Social Care or willing to work towards achieving level 2 qualification
· Evidence of successful completion of training in strategies for early-year education
· Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Social Media
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Experience in using information and communication technology to support learning
· Knowledge of fundamental principles of child development and learning
· Understanding the needs of children and families, including those with disabilities
· Previous experience in working with children aged birth to five
· Experience in dealing with childhood illnesses, accidents and emergency procedures
· Have a current First Aid Certificate
· Experience in food preparation for young children, including young babies
· Ability to absorb and understand a wide range of information concerning the functions of
the centre
· Able to build working relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues, to work
flexibly across boundaries, and be a member of the team
· Experience working on own initiative and prioritise between conflicting demands
· Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and to develop new skills and learning
opportunities
· Ability to work cooperatively within a multi-disciplinary team
· Strong verbal and written communication skills appropriate for communicating effectively
with Managers, children, Parents/Carers, families and staff
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Five Years of References
· Enhanced DBS required
· NVQ 2 or BTEC in Health and Social Care
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
