We are recruiting an Environmental Health Officer to manage HMOs following the legislative standards review of HMOs.
Responsibility
To undertake HMO complaint investigation and enforcement, investigate complaints about disrepair in a single occupation, take the necessary action, and undertake Pollution Control work; relating to Planning Consultations covering noise, air quality, and contaminated land:
Qualification – Essential
· GCSE Grade A-C) or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
· Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health
· Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH)
· Experiential Learning Portfolio or logbook, professional examinations and interview
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook.
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Deep knowledge in research and collaboration to perform business responsibilities on Air
Quality
· Solid experience in carrying out housing inspections following Housing Act 2004
· Knowledge in the provision of service that meets statutory requirements
· Demonstrate the ability to process and make recommendations on planning and
licensing applications in respect of all matters relating to HMOs
· Knowledge of housing regulation and public health functions as it relates to
Environmental Health
· Experience in responding effectively to changing demands and priorities, meeting
targets, deadlines and maintaining quality services
· Solid experience in residential premises inspection to prepare an accurate record of their
state and condition
· Ability to participate in the formulation of the department's policies and strategies in
relation to environmental health matters
· Solid experience carrying out legal investigations, including taking statements, gathering
evidence and preparing investigation reports and case files
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Three Years of Reference
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
