We are recruiting a Community Safety Coordinator to support Trading Standards & Community Safety in providing policy advice and guidance to the business, Portfolio Holder for Public Protection and Safety and critical stakeholders:
Responsibility
To develop and deliver the Community Safety Strategy that incorporates all work to reduce and prevent crime and disorder. The Team also provide support and services to the company's Public Protection and Safety Portfolio:
Qualification – Essential
· 3 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· Degree Level Prince2 or professional qualification
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media, MS Teams, Visio,
and MS Projects
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Knowledge of negotiation and liaison to build consensus between partners and their
objectives at various levels
· Experience in assisting community groups and partnerships seeking to tackle criminal
and anti-social behaviour
· Ability to plan, manage, monitor and deliver projects and work programmes to a high
level of specification
· Experience in financial processes within a public sector setting and competence in
financial planning and management systems
· Proven analytical skills, and practical solutions to complex problems
· Ability to analyse management and performance information effectively and provide a
departmental response
· Experience in report writing skills and knowledge to transfer complex and detailed
information into user-friendly reports
· Ability to work with and understand community networks and form working relationships
with people
· Experience in liaison with Safer Neighbourhood Panels, cluster panels, Police Safer
Neighbourhood Teams and interested stakeholders
· Ability to oversee the effective operation of the community safety team
· Experience in providing a problem-solving approach to crime and disorder
· Evidence of financial management, procurement processes and contract monitoring
· Experience in presentation, including ability in meeting organisation and chairing
meetings
· Flexible in changing priorities and have a proven ability to work under pressure and meet
deadlines
· Experience in preparing regular reports about project activity and community concerns
· Experience in building consensus between different partners at varying levels
· Ability to promote the Safer grants budget for community action
· Experience in identifying alternative funding opportunities to encourage the sustainability
of initiatives
· Ability to communicate effectively, demonstrating effective written and verbal
communication skills in a range of forums
· Flexibility and ability to work unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends
· Experience in performance management and evidence of using management information
to deliver planned outcomes in a team and individual basis.

· Enhanced DBS
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
