We are recruiting a Stage Door House Officer to work as part of the Front of House team to ensure a high standard of customer care and presentation. Providing telephone and in-person reception services for members of the public, artists, external organisations and other users in a safe, secure and welcoming environment:
Responsibility
Act as a key holder for the building with responsibilities for unlocking and locking the building and designated areas, securing backstage areas, activating and de-activating the security systems and conducting an agreed ‘lock up’ procedure, ensuring the building is safe and secure:
Qualification – Essential
· 3 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent to include Maths and English
· Basic Health & Safety Certificate
· SIA Door Supervisor Licence
· Advanced user –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media:
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
· Ability to conduct post-event checks, ensuring the public is clear of the building before
locking front doors and when working evening shifts, remaining on duty until all persons
have left
· Ability to Keep accurate records of fire alarm activities and testing and answer the
emergency phone for the customer lift and advise as appropriate
· Ability to attend regular fire evacuation training, ensure familiarity with procedures and
perform a specified role during evacuation procedures and assist with other emergencies
and safety procedures as required
· Experience providing a high standard of reception services, including assisting with the
main switchboard operation, directing calls, answering enquiries, and using the P.A
system to make announcements, provide administration support and, when required,
handling of initial verbal complaints before referring to Managers
· Experience in issuing and recording Taxi Vouchers following the Theatre’s policy
· Ability to welcome and receive artists, agents, crews and other visitors, ensuring all
visitors sign in and out where appropriate and that no access is given to unauthorised
persons
· Ability to liaise with internal departments and external organisations to ensure the smooth
running of events
· To layout furniture, wheelchair seating and equipment in the auditorium, foyers and other
areas and produce bilingual signage for room bookings and events to an agreed format
and as directed by the House Manager.
· Ability to operate and monitor CCTV system, access and security door panel and the fire
alarm panel, recording and reporting any incidents to the House Manager and taking
appropriate action as required
· Ability to carry out agreed procedures; receive, check, sign for and keep accurate records
of goods and mail delivered and collected, notifying the relevant departments where
necessary and, if required, assisting with the movement of these goods.
· Ability to deal effectively with a wide range of people
· Ability to work effectively and efficiently to deadlines and the ability to deal with last-
minute changes and requests from event organisers
· Ability to undertake training for the safe use of the Zip-up tower and Telescope, ensuring
certification is up-to-date
Essential Compliance Requirements
· Three Years of Reference
· Enhanced DBS
· A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role
